Best Mother
I can always count on her to do something if she says that she is going to do it. It just so happens that it was true. I called my mother on her cellular phone and it just so happen she was at a store where there was a Western Union. I caught her in a lie and there was nothing that she could do about it but just sit there and look dumb. She "no", because they were yellow and they look like they I had been walking in a puddle of urine. One example is when I was in Houston, Texas at a Robotics competition, I ran out of money and didn"tmt know how I was going to eat for the rest of the week. says is going to happen, always happen. There is nothing that she wants for and she really doesn"tmt ask anyone for anything because she says that people aren"tmt dependable. For instance when one of my girlfriends from back in the day was lying about something, my mother told me that if I was to just wait and ask her about it another time that her story would be different and all mixed up. My mother is also my favorite person because is a very dependable person. She says what she means and means what she says. I am very blunt dependable and a lot of people fell like they can talk to me about almost anything. She never bites her tongue for anyone or anything and she will always say what she wants to say when she wants to say it. She immediately sent me money so that I could eat and enjoy the rest of my

My Mom is my role model. I guess this is due to the fact that I used to scarcely see my Dad because he comes home really late; he still does, though not as late, while my Mother took care of me ever since she quit the job as the General Manager when I was in 2nd grade. She is the one who is there for me whenever I have a problem, like a robot on standby, but she is also a harsh whip with her discipline though she never hit me. My most notable memory of my Mom is when I sucked at math in 3rd grade. I don't know how to do a problem so naturally, I asked her. However, after she taught the same problem 4 times, I still didn't get it. I was afraid she would get mad, but she didn't and in the end when I finally got it, I asked her why she is so patient. She simply replied "practice makes perfect", an old…

Another trait my mom has that makes her an everyday hero in my life, is that she always has time to lend a listening ear and comfort those around her. No matter how petty something bugging me may be, she will sit there right beside me until I have finished speaking out. She then hugs me close and manages to find the perfect thing to say. She does this time and time again always ready to lend yet another listening ear and a flow of comforting words. Everyday it comforts me knowing that once I get home all my worries or complaints will look trivial after spending a few seconds with her.…

Every mother has a moment in her life where she remembers every detail. She will forever remember the date time and place, and the newfound sense of love. It is the moment she gave birth to her child. At that very moment, she makes a vow to herself and her child that she will be a good mother. There are so many traits that make a good mother, I will define the traits important to me. These are the traits I feel help define a good mother; unconditional love, trust, support, and patience. A good mother has an endless supply of unconditional love. “A child could destroy a mother’s most prized possession, but she will still have a smile on her face because her child is safe.” Unconditional love is known as affection without any limits. There is nothing a child could do to lose a good mothers love. As the child grows so does the mothers amount of unconditional love. A good mother shows the child that they can trust her with anything. During the first years of the child’s life the child depends and trusts that their mother will take of care of them and their basic needs to sustain life. When a child is scared, sad, seeking advice or help a good mother is who a child turns to. Being trustworthy is also a good a good trait to instill in your child by example. Every child needs support, and a good mother is their child’s main support system and backbone. There are many ways a good mother supports her child. Financial support is a big one, you don’t have to be rich to be a good mother. A good mother will be able to provide the child’s basic necessities and usually a little more. Children also need emotional support. Sometimes it’s something as simple as a kiss on a skinned knee, a compliment, or being a listening ear, and a shoulder to cry on. Most children look to a good mother for emotional support even into their adulthood. The mother may not always agree with the decisions her child makes. However, a good mother…

David Michael Kaplan Another postcard from you today, Mother, and I see by the blurred postmark that you're in Manning, North Dakota now and that you've dated the card 1961. In your last card you were in Nebraska, and it was 1962; you've lost some time, I see. I was a little girl, nine years old, in 1961. You'd left my father and me only two years before. Four months after leaving, you sent me—always me, never him—your first postcard, of a turnpike in the Midwest, postmarked Enid, Oklahoma. You called me "My little angel" and said that the sunflowers by the side of the road were tall and very pretty. You signed it, as you always have, "Your only mother." My father thought, of course, that you were in Enid, and he called the police there. But we quickly learned that postmarks meant nothing: you were never where you had been, had already passed through. in the wanderings only you understand. A postcard from my mother, I tell my husband, and he grunts. Well, at least you know she's still alive, he says. Yes. This postcard shows a wheat field bending in the wind. The colors are badly printed: the wheat's too red, the sky too blue—except for where it touches the wheat, there becoming aquamarine, as if sky and field could somehow combine to form water. There's a farmhouse in the distance. People must live there, and for a moment I imagine you do, and I could walk through the red wheat field, knock on the door, and find you. It's a game I've always played, imagining you were hiding somewhere in the postcards you've sent. Your scrawled message, as always, is brief: "The beetles are so much larger this year. I know you must be enjoying them. Love, your only mother." What craziness is it this time? my husband asks. I don't reply. Instead, I think about your message, measure it against others. In the last postcard seven months ago, you said you'd left something for me in a safety deposit box in Ferndale. The postmark was Nebraska, and there's no…
