I dreaded the alarm that woke me up at 6:30 in the morning. It was as loud as a screaming toddler that could be heard for miles. I groggily got out of bed and got ready for my first day of school. It was a weird feeling not putting on a uniform like I had been for the past nine years, but I also enjoyed that freedom. The nervousness became more and more intense as I could closer and closer to campus. When we arrived, I got out of the car, and watched my dad drive off to go take my younger sister to school. There was no going back now; I had no other choice than to walk through those doors. I felt like my throat was in my stomach. I noticed some familiar faces, and I walked towards them. While I was approaching my friends, a senior, facing toward me, walked passed. He must have been at least six feet tall, which was incredibly intimidating for me at just over five feet. I was not used to the fact that I’d potentially have classes with these giants. Additionally, the array of new teachers, and having to learn all of their teaching styles and things they did or did not tolerate was hard in…
I shouted happily and his angry face brighten up. " Little Bellator!" He laughed happily and embraced me in his giant meaty, muscular arms. " Oh how I missed ye!"…
"Hey Cadence, you found me fast. " Ophelia chuckled. We both turned to the stage set up at the other end of the room to see the headmaster, Augustus VonGericht.…
“I think you should talk to him for a little bit, he has something to tell you. I was going to tell you last night, but you were uninterested,” Sophie voiced her opinion without anyone asking for it, but all for the right reasons. “I’ll go with you if you would like me to,” Sophie was honestly only trying to help, but everyone was getting a bit annoyed.…
“Woah, you better watch out. You don’t know who’s out to getcha!” Jonathan hollered back over his shoulder with a chuckle.…
“What are you doing near my locker, dweeb?” Mason, the schools toughest jock yelled as he shoved me into the wall, causing a groan to escape my lips. I didn’t have time to answer as he threw me into the tile floor and the laughs of his delinquents echoed through the hallway. I felt like I couldn’t move, but I had to. I collected my scattered books and stumbled forward, holding on to myself more than I have before. My eyes were full with tears, but I couldn’t let my emotions slip more than they already have while everyone could see. I ran out of the school, and didn’t turn back. I had to get out of that hell.…
the girl now looked annoyed, and replied back with anger laced in her voice, "i don't fucking know who you are. get out of my way."…
"None of your business okay?" she replied again in a cold way," Just.. leave me alone."…
“Um...hello?” asked Flannery, walking into the detention room. She was surprised (and slightly unnerved) to see how normal it looked.…
Alex started twisting a piece of my hair around his finger. “The only way I’m leaving is if I take you with me."…

It was the fall of 1984; I was a senior in high school, this wasn’t a new school for me. Getting to school that morning proved to be very exciting, entering the doors at Hanau American High, this was going to be my last first day of school there. We were all excited to see each other, although we may have seen each other during the summer, for the most part some of my fellow classmates lived an hour away from me. This time I walked in with my head held high, I was a senior. Excited about starting my senior year, this at the time was supposed to be the best school year of my life. There was so much to look forward too, and really knowing deep down that this school year was going to fly by and we would all be headed in opposite directions.…
