Benefits of High School Sports.

I have always been an athletic person. As far back as I can remember, I have been involved in sports and I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have sports apart of my life. Sports have meant so much to me over my years of growing up. I was always encouraged to be a part of different types of athletic programs. Sports are not for everyone, but playing a sport is definitely beneficial for high school students. Activities and sports in schools is a great way for students to be involved, and to be active. I have done research and there hasn’t been one article I found on why sports shouldn’t be in schools. Having athletic programs and activities in schools are very helpful for students health, it develops team work, helps develop discipline and also perfection. School administrators, and parents, generally support high school activity programs because of the positive effect these activities appear to have on students of both genders. (Braddock P.1) One of the most exciting things about being a part of a high school sport is the traveling. As a team member of a club, or a sport, you get to travel to many different schools and places that a student wouldn’t normally go. Granted, many of these are close to the same area, it is still fun to share the long bus ride experiences with your team mates. Being competitive plays a big role on athletes, which is what makes the game. But there are also many other ways a person can be competitive. Some researchers believe that sports are taking away from other academic clubs and activities because it is taking away from the students academics, but studies have shown otherwise. Students have the choice to be in both groups, or choose one or the other. If a student were to choose to be a part of a chess team or beta club, the student will still learn how to use time management, and how to create team work. Every team, no matter what kind of team, requires honor and commitment from the student....
