Belize vs. Yakima

There are often comparisons between an urban civilization to rural civilization.   Humans adapt to different environments that would be the most suitable for their style of living.   Society as a whole didn't tell us where civilization should take place.   Choosing the right place for a living depends on the matters of personal preferences and comfort.   Throughout the last decade, I was brought up in two different cities that are thousands of miles apart - - San Pedro, Belize and Yakima, Washington. The two cities are different in their own way, yet there are structures are something too which we can soon identify or relate with. Although it's located in different regions, it was beneficial to experience and to taste the variety in culture and way of life.
Growing up in Yakima, Washington (an area with great amount of violence, crack houses, and broken down vehicles in the front and back   yard), seemed to be a nice, safe place to live as a child; but as an adult, it does not seem it was much of a fairytale land. After living in San Pedro, Belize reassures that life in “paradise” is a world apart its neighboring city, Yakima, Washington .San Pedro was Flooded with enforced rules, family-based neighborhoods and nominal crime activity, San Pedro, Belize presents a cleaner, safer, and family focused environment.
In Yakima, Washington, the sounds of screams are frequently heard throughout the day and night, quickly followed by the whining sound of police cars or the ambulance shortly thereafter. As frightening as it may sound, it is not uncommon to hear news of bullets piercing into someone’s home or even body on Fox news 24 every night.   However, these frequent acts of violence and chaos are almost unheard of as a resident of San Pedro, Belize.   To see a squad car doing anything outside of driving his routine traffic route is a rare instance. Unlike Yakima, Washington, most citizens appear to be more law-abiding whether at home or out in the community.
