Worldwide families base their lives around religion. Many of these religions have sparked from a mass enlightenment or movement at one point in history. Though most religion seems to want to be moral, they’ve created the exact opposite in modern day life, most war arises from religion and seeing different levels of morality and not wanting the other person to continue their practices that way. The way that history has such a mass effect on our modern day lives religion wise could almost be seen as extraordinary. Buddhism founded by Siddhartha Gautama. The Buddha lived and taught in the eastern part of India around between the 6th and 4th centuries BC. Buddhism was never necessary a religion, as much as it is a philosophy/ way of living. Buddhists seek enlightenment and try and teach people to keep away from ignorance, craving, and suffering. According to Buddhism if you desire you suffer, and life is learning how to stay away from desire so you have no life suffering. Today Buddhism is mainly practiced throughout India and china. Buddhists follow similar things Hindus do like karma and dharma. They highly protest the cast system. Buddhists follow the four noble truths and the noble eightfold path. A Buddhists major goal is to reach nirvana, which is to make all desires and greed a fictitious thing in reality and make it cease to exist. Yoga and meditation which are two liberating and healthy practices used by people everyday were originated by Buddhists meditations and cultures, originally used by the yogis and studied by Siddhartha Gautama he spread this form of exercise and meditation and made it one of the most widely used exercises worldwide. Christianity, which was founded because of the death of Jesus Christ. It was created as a Jewish section religion around the 1st century. Christianity originated in the eastern Mediterranean coast of the Middle East and spread from there on. Christianity is a monotheistic religion. Christians follow the bible and Christianity has many subgroups so there may be minor differences throughout the sub-religions though all basically believing and following the same morals. The main Christian symbol is a cross; this is the cross Jesus was hung on. Usually the cross depicts Jesus nailed to it but sub-Christian groups like Methodists depict just a cross without Jesus Christ. Christians follow the Ten Commandments as well, which is a list of 10 morals on how to be morally correct in society that you can go to heaven. They also protest sins, which is when a person goes against the Ten Commandments. Christianity is probably the most popular and largely practiced religion in the entire world and most old Christian practices are still practiced today. Most religions believe in different gods and different after lives. There are wide ranges of religions that were created throughout history that are used today. Though many religions are different, most have a common goal of being moral and by being moral achieving a good after life.
