In my current position as the Human Resources Manager for The Providence Academy for
Students Success Charter School, I have lots of different detailed information that I will share today regarding the specifics of my job, and our employee terms. We are a non-union school, which caters to the needs of the youth who are looking for future schooling in the Engineering field. Our school provides services for urban city youth ages 5-19. As the HR manager, I have a responsibility to hire the most HQT (Highly Qualified Teachers) who apply for our positions with the school. Several background checks and other hiring vices are necessary to begin our selection processes. When an applicant is interested in a position with the school, they first need to submit an application online and/or in person. When the background check is completed, the initial interview takes place, I do all the interviewing, that means, if an employee has a slip up or is discharged, and that is my responsibility.
When it comes to teachers, I hire positive teachers, who try to encourage their students to do their best and succeed in life. The employees I hire have a contract that is suited with the benefits and pay that is geared toward their profession. Teachers who have that will to help their students be the best, is what we want for our students, positivity is needed in this troubled world, so we encourage our students to implore every option presented to them. Whenever new employees are hired, I hold an orientation that is geared toward letting the new teachers; know our positive and effective teaching style, to help our students succeed in life. This helps the new employees get accustomed to our unique experience.
At $48,692*, Ohio is ranked 14th for average teacher salaries, up from 15th for the previous year. Ohio's relatively low costs of living makes this 9 month working year salary one of the... [continues]
