Being a single mother, who works 40 hours per week and attends college, is one of the most stressful yet rewarding lifestyles one experiences. Although stressful, you gain a many pleasures of success and pride.
I start my day at 5 o’clock in the morning Monday through Friday each week. Bryanna is fortunate she gets to sleep until 5:30, sometimes 6 o’clock each morning. We must shower and get ready for our day and leave our house by 6:35 a.m. in order to get the 7 a.m. bus so she can get to school by 8 a.m. Once she safely on her way to school, I go to work. I am scheduled to work 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. five days per week. I usually arrive to work at approximately 7:30 each morning. Work, Work, Work. I leave my office for my normal lunch, return to work for one hour and then it’s time to go get Bryanna off the bus at 2:10. Bryanna then goes to work with me until 3:30. I am fortunate that her Aunt comes and picks her up at that time so I can continue to work.
By the time 5 p.m. rolls around, it’s been twelve hours and I am ready for a nap. Not going to happen! After I leave work, if it is Tuesday or Thursday, I go to class for and hour or so then I go pick Bryanna up. We may or may not have dinner at my Brother’s house. We usually end up getting home around 8 o’clock that night. If it is a Monday or Wednesday, I go to my Brother & Sister-in-law’s house to visit with Bryanna for a little bit after work. On Wednesday s, our visit is cut short. Bryanna has Awana’s from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and I have class from 7 p.m. until almost 9 o’clock on Mondays & Wednesday s. Luckily, Bryanna’s Aunt comes to the rescue and picks Bryanna up from Awana’s and takes her to their home. By the time I get out of class and drive to where Bryanna is, it’s usually after 9 at night.
