I. Company Background

B-12 Construction & Trading Corporation started in the construction and ready mix business in May 20, 2003 having a small number of technical personnel with extensive exposure in all the aspects of vertical and horizontal infrastructures particularly in horizontal construction, bridges and roads - be it concrete.

Through years it has developed a capable and competent pool of personnel that has gained extensive exposure and experience in road construction realizing its mission of delivering quality ready mix products and because of its dedicated and experienced management group and employees. It acquired top-of-the line plant facility and equipment to ensure the company’s dependability and continuous production for its clientele. B12 ranks 5215 in the year 2007 in the Business Profiles 2008-2009 Top 7000 Corporations and increasingly ranks 5004 in the following year. Eng’r. Resty C. Bautista the company’s owner, initiated to put up B12 CONSTRUCTION & TRADING CORPORATION in fulfillment of the company’s vision and objectives of offering quality products and service to the construction industry.

With the technical capability and competence gained through 22 years in the field of Construction of Eng’r. Resty Bautista (see Appendix A for Engr. Resty Bautista’s Credential) and with the acquisition of new fleet of equipment in the production of ready mix concrete. B12 is fully equipped to specialize in the production of ready mix concrete to satisfy the need of both the private and the government sectors for their horizontal infrastructure requirements.

II. Case Proper

B12 started its first operation last November 24, 2003 with only 3 units of transit mixers, one silo (cement storage tower 3000bags x 40kgs/bag or equivalent to 120,000kg capacity), 1small pay loader, control house and 5 personnel. It was located at Sitio Marangle, Brgy. Calibutbut Bacolor, Pampanga nearby Angeles Industrial Park at Holy Angel Village. (see Figure 1 for vicinity map of B12 Construction and Trading Corporation).

Through RC Pecson Construction and Niagara Construction as the main contractor B12 was able to cater its first client in San Fernando specifically San Miguel Corporation. It was Engr. Resty Bautista who initiated the market of B12 at first, also act as logistics, financial aspects as collector, as well as the management of the whole operation, one man team as they say. B12 construction delivered 1000 cubic only per month for the reasoned of lack of transit mixers, drivers and operation personnel. An alumni of Adamson University, Manila as licensed civil and material engineer specialized in Management of asphalt mix & readymix operations acquired through 22 years of exposure in different construction companies dealing in production of asphalt, ready mix, aggregates and pre-stress particularly at Concrete Aggregates Corp. which was the 3rd top concrete products supplier in the Philippines in 1990’s.

After 2 years of operation, B12 started to purchase additional transit mixers, pay loaders and other heavy equipments. B12 started to hired additional personnel such as Engineers, Plant Operators, Office Staffs and skilled labours from 5 personnel to 30 personnel as of 2006 (see Figure 2 for B12 Organizational Chart).
