Aviation is a fast developing sector of the economy. It is interconnected with a number of social and economic benefits and a range of environmentally damaging consequences. This report is intended to highlight the reasons on why aviation growth cannot exist in harmony with the global environment. It is organized into (5) paragraphs. Paragraph 1 will report on the background of aviation, how aviation has impacted the global environment over the past few years and a brief overview of the following paragraphs. Paragraph 2 will describe on the immense amount of noise pollution that the aviation industry discharges on a daily basis and how it affects the environment. Paragraph 3 will cover the various different types of pollutants emitted and disposed by aircrafts and airports. In addition, paragraph 3 will also elaborate on why the measures implemented to reduce environmental impact of aviation growth had limited success. Paragraph 4 will talk about diplomatic backing from professional aviation bodies that prevents eco-friendly rules, regulations and practices from being mounted. Lastly, paragraph 5 concludes the report with a summary with regard to the a fore-mentioned reasons.
Aviation growth and protecting the environment can exist in harmony, truth or fallacy? The answer to this controversial burning question has undeniably been debated for many years. Aviation is defined as the operation of heavier than aircraft. Over the past few years, there has been tremendous growth in the aviation industry (airports, airlines, air navigation service and civil aviation authority).
