High School and Perpetual Succor College
My name is Gerald D.L. Dolorfino, and I am currently in college studying education. I was born on 20th of November year 1997, in St Victoria Hospital. My parents are Dory and Noel Dolorfino and I have two brothers and one sister who are Adrian, Noriel and Aileen.
Me and my parents went to Saudi Arabia….

I started studying when I was three. My parents enrolled me in a Daycare Center. You may not believe me but I always sleep and cry at school.

After that, my parents brought me back here in the Philippines and enrolled me in Grade 1 at Our Lady of Perpetual Succor College. I knew no one there and felt out of place. But it went incredibly awesome. I gained a lot of friends and had a lot of fun. It’s been quite jaded studying six years on the same school but it’s totally fine with me because I have friends to laugh with, have fun with, and learn with.

In 2010, I graduated from elementary and became a high school freshman in Our Lady of Perpetual Succor College. It’s great that I found true friends that same year, and it’s quite cool that God gave me nine super cool and amazing friends that actually treated me like a brother. I had so much fun with them. We had a lot of adventures together and I can say it’s one of the best moments in life.

It’s my sophomore year in 2011, and the best moment that I remembered back there is when we gave away school supplies to persons who are in need. It feels really great helping out others, specially seeing the beautiful smiles in their faces.

In 2012, I fell in love with basketball. It’s like, my world revolves around it. There’s something about the sport that I really love. It just releases the stress in me and somehow relaxes me.

One day, while I was laying peacefully on my bed, my mother came in with a letter from Florida A&M University. I didn't really want to speculate anything because a few days before I received a letter from another college saying that I wasn't accepted. Nevertheless I was still excited when I opened it and even more so when I read that I had been accepted. So without much hesitation I packed up and headed to Tallahassee. When I arrived my mother and I took care of registration and a plethora of things you have to manage as a new student. After all the hassles of college registration were completed my mother departed for home and I was left by myself to attend college. What a great feeling! Little did I know what I had on store for the next day, my first in college.…

Last year had to by far be the toughest year for me in high school. I grew away from many people that I considered some of my closest friends. I also suffered academically because I began to spend less time doing work and being focused on less important things. I got caught up in unnecessary drama, went on my first college visits, and met new people in the matter of one year. Not only did I grow as a person, I grew as an athlete, I grew as a sibling, and I grew as a young woman. My junior year allowed me to develop my expectations for myself in life and my expectations for the people who I choose to surround myself with. This was the year that I decided who I would want to become in the future.…
