3. Explain the difference between Act, regulation, code of practice, standard and guidance material. Act- is the legislative and administrative tool that provides all information on OHS. Regulation- specifies how the Act is to be use and is legally enforceable. Code of Practice- provides advice on how to meet regulatory requirements. Standards and Guidance- provides information on how to use the Act and it’s components.
Assessment Activity 9:
On the following page is an excerpt from a workplace procedure for workplace bullying. Evaluate the procedure against criteria in this topic and discuss how it addresses the criteria and where you think changes can be made. This procedure outlines what is required of all parties but still leaves some questions. Eg. The procedure should in section D) clearly state who should write to the accused. Section H) states an agreed time frame but should probably give a set time frame when an investigation should be started and completed. The procedure should have clearly labelled on it detail of when it was last reviewed and when it will next be reviewed.
