P2 Task 6

I have created the T accounts which can be located in the three ledgers which would be the Sales Ledgers, the Purchase Ledgers and General Ledger. We then posted to many different accounts which basically credits one account and debits the other account. This would be called a double entry at the end of each month the accounts was balanced. This was done by using another balance but opposite to the account so that it could create a carry down for the next month. The carry down balance was then transferred to the other side of the account to create a brought down balance for the start of the new month .We use daybooks to make posting from source documents such as invoices or credit note ect. This is to save time on posting information and to improve the accuracy of the accounts.
