At the Canteen
Level 1
The children were queuing at the canteen. They wanted to buy food. A prefect watched the children. A girl fell down. The boys laughed. The prefect helped the girl. The girl cried. The girl sat at the table. The prefect bought some noodles. The teacher praised the prefect. She was responsible. The teacher gave chocolate for her.

Level 2
It was recess time. Some children were queuing at the canteen. They wanted to buy some food. A prefect was standing there. She watched the children.
Suddenly, a little girl fell down. Some boys laughed at her. Ani the prefect helped the little girl. She took the girl to a table. The girl sat there. Ani bought a bowl of noodle and gave it to her.
Ani went to her classroom. Her class teacher praised her for good deed. She was a responsible and kind prefect. Her teacher gave her a box of chocolate.

Level 3
It was recess time and many pupils were queuing up at the canteen to buy food. Ani, who was a prefect, was standing near the counter. She watched the pupils to make sure they did not push one another.
Suddenly, a little girl slipped and fell down on the floor. Her plate of noodles was on the floor too. Ani went to help her. Some boys laughed at her, so she scolded them. The girl cried. Ani took her gently to a long table. She sat there while Ani went to buy another plate of noodles for her. The girl thanked her and ate the noodles hungrily.
Later, in the classroom, Ani’s class teacher praised her for her good deed. She was a good example of a responsible and kind prefect. Her teacher offered her a box of chocolate. Ani was as happy as a lark.

Level 1
It was recess. Farah went to the canteen. She queued and bought some food. She held the plate. A boy knocked Farah. The food spilt. The boy was sorry. He apologized to Farah. Farah wiped her hands.

Level 2
It was time for recess. Farah and her best friend, Lina quickly went to the canteen. She queued up to buy food.
She held the plate of rice and walked to a table. Suddenly a boy ran and knocked her. Farah’s plate fell off. The food split onto the floor.
The boy was very sorry. He apologized to her. Farah wiped her hands with a tissue paper. The boy bought her another plate of rice.

Level 3
It was recess. Farah and her best friend, Lina went to the school canteen. They queued up at the counter and Farah bought a plate of fried rice. After paying for their food, they went to look for a place to sit and eat.
As Farah was holding her plate of fried rice, a boy suddenly ran into her. He knocked the plate of fried rice in Farah’s hands. The plate fell off and the rice spilt all over her pinafore.
The boy was very, very sorry for his clumsiness. He apologized to her again and again for the accident. He gave his handkerchief to Farah. Farah used it to wipe her pinafore. Meanwhile, the boy went to buy another plate of fried rice for her. Farah thanked him for the food and accepted his apology.

Level 1 There were many pupils at the canteen. Chan was standing. He was buying food. A boy pushed Chan. Chan fell down. He cried. The prefect saw the boy. The teacher scolded the boy.

Level 2

Chan was standing in line at the canteen because it was recess. He wanted to buy some foodThe three boys used nets because he was hungry. A naughty boy pushed him from behind.
Chan knocked a small boy in front of him. The boy fell down on the floor. He had some bruises on his arm. He cried loudly.
A prefect saw what happened. He told the teacher on duty. The teacher came and scolded the naughty boy.

Level 3
It was recess, so Chan went to the canteen. He was standing in a line to buy some food because he was hungry. Suddenly a naughty boy pushed him hard from behind.
Chan stumbled and knocked a small boy in front of him. The boy fell down on the floor. He had some bruises on his calf and arm, so he cried loudly.
A prefect from Year 6 saw what happened. He told the incident to the teacher on duty, Mr Lim. Mr Lim scolded the naughty boy. He warned him not to do such a foolish action again. The naughty boy felt very sorry. He apologized to Chan and the small boy.
