What type of install is the cable going into? Is everything in a fixed position? If you have an install where items are moved around without being disconnected, using highly flexible cable is necessary. Cables in these scenarios need to be flexible to meet those demands of mobility, and also for the life of the wire so that it does not crack, break, fray or short. We had a job at a university where we moved flat panels on a track system to create different screen sizes, and for that we had to make sure the cable would meet the demand.…

The house was appraised at a value of $300,000 and the land had an appraised value of $100,000. Mr. Potato plans to tear down the house and replace it with a new house worth $1,500,000 with the intentions of living in it personally. Paying to have the house bulldozed would cost Mr. Potato a considerable amount of money. It has been suggested to Mr. Potato to permit the Troy Fire Department rights to conduct training exercises on the land, and as part of those training exercises, to burn the house down to cinders.…

The Internal Revenue Code imposes a Federal tax on the taxable income of every corporation. Sec. 11(a). Section 61(a) specifies that gross income for purposes of calculating such taxable income means “all income from whatever source derived”. Encompassed within this broad pronouncement are all “undeniable accessions to wealth, clearly realized, and over which the taxpayers have complete dominion.” Commissioner v. Glenshaw Glass Co., 348 U.S. 426, 431 [47 AFTR 162] (1955). Stated otherwise, gross income includes earnings unaccompanied by an obligation to repay and without restriction as to their disposition. James v. United States, 366 U.S. 213, 219 [7AFTR 2d 1361] (1961). From the facts presented it seems that Peaceful enjoyed complete dominion over the prepaid funds. I find it significant that…

Date: 4-11-09Re: Case 3-5A.Discuss the concept of relevance. In your opinion, would the amounts reported by U.S. companies for property, plant, and equipment be more or less relevant than the current cost amounts reported by companies in England, Mexico, or elsewhere?RelevanceInformation is relevant when it influences the economic decisions of users by helping them evaluate past, present, and future or by confirming or correcting their past evaluations. Relevance is also affected by materiality. Information has the quality of relevance when it is 'capable of making a difference in the economic decisions of users by helping them evaluate the effect of past and present events on future net cash inflows (predictive value) or confirm or correct previous evaluations(confirmatory value), even if it is not being used' (FASB, 2005: 2; FASB 1980: 37). In the IASB framework information has the quality of relevance 'when it influences the economic decisions of users by helping them evaluate past, present of future events or confirming, or correcting, their past evaluations' (IASB, 1989: 24). Both frameworks thus say that accounting information is relevant if it has the capacity to make a difference in a decision. The FASB requires information to be capable of making a difference in the economic decisions of users 'even if it is not being used'. However, to be relevant the IASB definition additionally requires that information is used i.e. influences the decision maker in making economic decisions. Another small difference between the FASB and IASB framework is the FASB framework explicitly mentions that relevant information has to have predictive and feedback value, while the IASB uses these terms implicit in its framework. 'The predictive and confirmatory roles of information are interrelated (IASB,1989: 27).…

After three years on the job, Attired mentioned her interest in getting a tattoo to a fellow waitress. The waitress warned Attired that if she was going to get a tattoo to make sure that it was somewhere where it would not be visible. This particular waitress had been working at Biddy’s for ten years and knew that if Attired got a tattoo the owner, Biddy Baker, would be upset. In June of 2010, Attired, ignoring the warning given to her by her co-worker, got a full sleeve tattoo that went from her shoulder to her elbow. After showing up to work, Biddy was visibly upset. Some patrons requested to be moved from Attired’s seating section because they commented that they did not want to look at “that” while they were eating. At this point the Plaintiff was told to have tattoo removed, which she refused, and was terminated at the end of the week.…
