Ai. A description of four different examples of accidents and/or sudden illnesses that might occur.

Heart attack

Signs and symptoms of a heart attack: When an individual is having a heart attack he will suffer from shortened breath which will lead to overwhelming feeling of anxiety. Also, their chest will feel like its being pressed or squeezed with big pressure, this pain can also radiate throughout the body into jaw, neck, arms and also back.

Diabetic coma

Signs and symptoms of diabetic coma: First sign to lookout for is increased thirst which will lead to more frequent need to urinate. Patient may feel more tired, this can be followed by a sleep-like state where at this point the person will slip into a coma. There will be no communication with the patient what so ever.

Asthma Attack

Signs and symptoms of asthma attack: While tightening of muscles around the airways Most common asthma attack symptoms are, difficulty breathing, cough, shorten breath. During the attack airways become swollen or/and inflamed. Asthma can make normal everyday activities more difficult.

Stroke

Signs and symptoms of a stroke: Numbness of face, arm, or leg on one side of the body.
Person will act confused and/or will have difficulties speaking. There are also other symptoms which may be trouble seeing, walking or a sudden headache with unknown cause. It may leave a person in coma, permanent weakness down one side of their body or there may be no long lasting effects.

Aii. An outline of the procedure to follow if an accident or a sudden illness should occur.

All health and social care personnel have to be prepared for emergency situations therefore a must is to have appropriate procedures for staff to follow in case of emergency so the people can be treated professionally and safely. To correctly follow these procedures in case of sudden illness you will need to first of all remain calm and do not panic. Quickly inform other staff of the situations or raise
