Topic question #23- Assess Cuba’s role in the spread of revolution throughout Latin America after 1959 Through my research task I am aiming to Assess and provide an understanding on what influence Cuba had on Latin America after 1959 to 1989. As well as providing an understanding of the importance of the Cuban revolution and how it impacts Latin America and the revolution. •The Cuban revolution is the commencement of the American socialist revolution. •Castro’s revolution ignited a wave of revolutionary activity that ignited unprecedented levels of threat to vested interests and shook the Latin American status to its core in the 1960s and early 1970s. "Our revolution is endangering all American possessions in Latin America. We are telling these countries to make their own revolution." Cherm Guevara, October 1962
My interpretation of this quote is when Cuba revolutionized American business men lost their land in which they owned and invested. This consisted mainly of food crops and farming land which was given away to working Cuban’s and divided into small land amounts. This caused an uprising in finance for those Americans. This quote may also refer to overseas American investors which where Invested in Cuba.
