Part A
Week 6

While watching the vlr of The Declining Fish Stock I was amazed at how scientist are now starting to believe that there are few big fish left in the ocean due to over fishing.   Science once thought that the ocean was so big and vast that man would not have as big of an impact as we have.   They also thought that with the ocean being so big that it would keep on replenishing its self and pretty much be an infinite supply of food.   I’m sure that this would have been very possible but with there being no real limit as to what a fisherman can take and catch it’s easy to destroy a complete food source.
My plan of action for a prevention of extinction of these big game fish would be to set a yearly limit on how many pounds of fish you man catch and how many people can get a license to fish commercially a year.   If you take those two things that could seriously reduce the number of boats on the water and also help to give the fish a chance to repopulate.   The views of this plan from an environmentalist view would most likely be good.   As for the fishermen I feel think that they would protest this as this would put many out of work.  
My plan could be beneficial for both sides on the fact that it will still allow those who can get the license to continue to fish while also starting conservation for the fish.   I also feel that if we have a limit on how much we can catch each season we will be able to preserve that way also.   The views of the positive are both parties of this plan benefit the fish population grows back stronger than ever and the commercial fishermen can continue to fish.   Some of the negatives would include putting some of the fishermen out of work for a season.   The environmentalist stand point on this, is they may still seem like this wouldn’t work on the fact that there will still be a vast number of ships and still lots of fish being caught a year but if we can save several thousands of fish a season then that is...
