Selling of junk food should be banned because they are unhealthy for student’s consumption, increase the rate of obesity, and waste the school’s budget on junk food while it could be on education or healthier foods. The distribution of junk foods should be banned from Ontario secondary schools. When students are working in school, they get hungry and need to consume some helpful nutrients to keep them focused and working. Giving them junk food would not help them focus or work, instead they would get more distracted and get unhealthy nutrients that would not help them work. Furthermore if there were more healthy alternatives to junk food, students would feel better about themselves which would help them to be more positive towards learning. The selling of junk food should be banned from Ontario secondary schools because junk food is unhealthy.
The rate of obesity and other health problems will go down if the sales of junk food are banned because the junk foods would be replaced by healthy food such as fruits and vegetables. Moreover the banning of junk foods would mean the rate at which students consume unhealthy nutrients would go down severely as well as the rate of students consuming healthy nutrients would go up astronomically. Also as a result of reduced obesity and health problems, students would not only feel better about themselves but would also be in better health condition which would allow them to learn and perform in school better. The purchasing of junk food should be discontinued from Ontario secondary schools because the rate of obesity and other health problems would go down.
The banning of junk foods in schools would also help the school board because they would be spending less money on junk food (which are plentiful and costly) and more on education, technology and buying other cheaper and healthier foods. In turn students would enjoy being in...
