The Small Arms Trade Treaty has been proposed by the United Nations, and has been signed by our Speaker of the House, Hillary Clinton. The Small Arms Treaty will regulate the illicit trade and movement of unlawfully owned weaponry to all nations and citizens. In the article, The Right to Bear Arms is a Human Right by Newt Gingrich, he argues that the Small Arms Trade Treaty is in violation of the first and second amendments; affecting people’s right to bear arms in the United States or other countries and prevent the citizens of any nation the right to defend themselves. The treaty does not deny people the ability to defend themselves; it attempts to eliminate the process of trade for the individuals who do exploit, harm or attempt to kill them. Self defense is about being able to defend what you think is right, whether that is through a legal system, with your bare hands or other...
