Argumentative Essay Outline

I. Introduction
Topic Sentence: Capital punishment; immoral or moral; just or unjust? These are just a few of the question people ask themselves when debating the death penalty which is the most controversial issue in the United States. Proposition one: The killers kill innocent people. There is no question about that, but does that give us the right to kill these killers? Proposition two: “an eye for an eye.”

Thesis Statement: To protect the community, deterrence and fear, and eliminate all uncertainty of killing innocent through the development of new technology (ex. DNA testing).

II. Body Paragraphs
A. Argument one
Topic sentence: To protect the community from crime and criminals a punishment system is found Supporting detail 1: On the United States, they state the death sentence is only for the people who made ferocious crimes Example: Initially, it is started in Greece in 621. B.C.E Supporting detail 2: The effect of the death penalty basically influences the victim’s families. Example: suffering for a long time, sometimes they are not recovering. Supporting detail 3: If the prisoner escapes or parole. Example: some people sentence to still alive, but they still killing even other prisoner. B. Argument two

Topic sentence: The main reason for capital punishment is deterrence. Supporting detail 1: growth of fear in the heart and minds inside each one who wants to kill. Example: “To stick terror in the minds of undetected criminals, youth and all persons watching” Supporting detail 2: In the United States the death penalty was canceled for ten years. Example: there were 95,000 murders on the USA. The number of murders increased rapidly to 180,000. Supporting detail 3: They continued killing and were convicted again...
