Argentina Suites Case Sun Chuanqin
Dear Max,
There are three important steps I strongly recommend you take. Firstly, you should gain authority from your father. Then, you need to make some changes to ensure that the right person is in the right place. Finally, you can collaborate with your team and delegate jobs to them.
First and foremost, you need to convince your father that you can make the hotel more profitable if he empowers you in the hotel’s management. If you have the authority, you can make some changes in the human resources aspect, such as firing and promoting staff, to help the hotel’s operation efficiency. Also, the physical condition of Argentina Suites is backward and needs maintenance. Therefore, you need authority in the financial field to deal with those problems. Besides, the average occupancy and the income statement show that the hotel is still profitable; however, problems such as the fraud in taxes can be regarded as the underlying danger which may bring risk of scandal to the hotel. It is good for you to fix them as soon as possible.
Secondly, you need to make adjustments among the positions of each department of the hotel. Due to nepotism and the culture of Argentina Suites, the hotel has plenty of problems, such as laid-back individuals, kickbacks, and corruption, which retard the operations. When facing laid-back issues, a warning is sufficient to correct the bad behavior. However, the more severe problems, such as corruption, cause adverse impact on the hotel and cannot be pardoned.
Finally, at this point, you have the authority and a good management team to help you deal with other problems. For example, you can address the problems regarding the air conditioners and the sprinkler system by discussing them with your upper management members and delegating the jobs. Then, you can achieve your goal of transforming this hotel into a better place.

    3. Part of the key strategy implementation effort is by Pam Janusz. She has gotten to know staff, guests and those from the neighborhood. Remington Hotel is located near NAIA 3, beside the Resorts World Manila. The hotel is good but has some flaws that has a need to work on knowing the hotel is rated as 4-star. As a hotel, they must repair and maintain facilities as it is needed. But when we arrived to the hotel, one of their interior design is not functioning, which is a demerit for their hotel. And no personnel from the department of repair is fixing it. The hallway of the hotel is very simple, as a 4-star hotel, being classy yet elegant is a must, but then, we felt like we are in a dormitory as we walked through the hallway and corridors. The elevator is well functioning, the good thing about their elevator is their ving card system, where in a guest can only go to a certain floor where his/her room is located. The room is okay. I cannot say that is very good since it doesn’t has a mini bar which is one of the requirements of a guest room, also, the bathroom is not spacious, and it does not have a bath tub. Also, I did not saw their spa and gym, which I doubted they have as well as their convention halls. Their personnel are accommodating, good looking, and practice being hygienic. The female personnel’s hair are in bun, they wear a light make up, and proper uniform, while men personnel’s hair are properly trimmed, and they wear proper uniform. Another thing I am concerned with is their reception area is far from the doors of the hotel. Which I think will not work because the guests will still look for it instead of seeing it upon entering the hotel.…
