Conclusions: was the sum of the change in enthalpy of the individual reactions (reactions 1 and 2) equal to (or similar to) the change in enthalpy for the overall reaction (reaction 3)? Verify by citing data (post lab question 6 is helpful here) •Discussion of Theory: refer to FLINN Background—discuss first law of thermo and Hess’s law •Experimental Sources of Error: perform percent error by comparing the change in enthalpy for reactions 1 and 2 to the change in enthalpy for reaction 3. Then, without performing a percent error equation, compare the values of the changes in enthalpy of the sum of reactions 1 and 2, reaction 3, and the accepted change in enthalpy (again, see post lab #6). Cite probable sources of error and how these errors may influence the data. Consider the fancy calorimeter and the high tech method of reading temps that were used during the experiment.
