Anything About Love
ANYTHING UNDER THE SUN:
LOVE OR INFATUATION? Teenagers do fall in love. Everyone falls in love. Are you in love? I mean, with someone special? Is it Love or Infatuation? According to Wikipedia, Infatuation is the state of being carried away by unreasoned passion or love expresses the headlong libidinal attraction of addictive love. Usually, one is inspired with an intense but short-lived passion or admiration for someone. So, infatuation is different from love. Yeah, there’s a big difference. A crush maybe but it’s still different. As what an article said, Infatuation is a feeling; real love involves a commitment. Infatuation is just a love of emotion while real love is love of devotion. Only the emotions are affected in Infatuations, unlike in real love, both the emotions and the will are affected. A person “fall into” infatuation, but “grows into” real love. Can you already say you’re in love? Yes, it’s hard to explain if you’re in love. I know, because I am. I don’t know how and why, I just felt it. I can’t say it’s infatuation because it’s been 6 months. Based on psychological study: A crush only lasts for a maximum of 4 months, if it exceeds, you are already in love. I’m not a love expert, but I think that’s true. Would you like someone that long if it’s only admiration? Why waste your time for someone if you’re not interested? That feeling when he gets near and your heart beats fast. Creepy right? But that’s a proof that you’re in love. When you cannot stare at him because you its awkward and when you always think of him or her every night before you go to sleep. Have you ever imagine yourself with him/her doing sweet things? Oh, that must be love. Just a piece of advice. If you don’t have any plan of falling in love, don’t take your admiration seriously. Yes, we can’t stop love but we can prevent it. Like what Taylor Swift said, “Love, don't fall in love because everything that falls gets broken”. Just remember, Infatuation is weakened by time and separation where love is strengthened by time and separation. We’re still young. We will meet someone out there who is better and good looking. Just don’t take relationships too serious. Everytime you cry out of love, always think that your soulmate’s wish just came true.

Love can be seen in many different ways for many different people. Though, the internet states it as an intense feeling of deep affection. That is plain, boring, and does not really branch off of what love is. Love is when butterflies erupt, or a face brightens at the mention of someone's name. Love is when two people have a mutual respect for each other and they want to give them everything they can possibly give.…

Infatuation is momentary, fleeting, and based off an individual's looks. True love is long lasting, real, and based off an individual's personality. However, infatuation has the tendency to turn into true love over time. The texts Romeo and Juliet,“Why should a Foolish marriage vow,” and “What happens in our brains when we’re in love,” explain this by giving specific examples. True love requires dedication from both individuals. All three texts discuss this in depth Predestination means that something is decided by fate and it is inevitable. It can lead to true love or put emphasis on infatuation. Free will is something a character might do for their self happiness. It might start true love or end it. Obligation is something…

In the beginning of “What We Talk About When We Talk About Love,” Mel’s talk about spiritual love meant the most to me. I have always been very strong spiritually, and very strong in my faith and love with God. Throughout the conversations in “What We Talk About When We Talk About Love,” there are three main types of love discussed. Mel has stories trying to pinpoint true love, Nick and Laura are newlyweds that think they are in love, and Terri looks at love from an abusive standpoint. Mel makes many comments about his viewpoints on love; through those comments, the reader is able to tell that Mel looks at love as a spiritual aspect.…

Eventually, I embarrassingly fell in love. It wasn’t gradual, or voluntary - it just happened. Those “butterflies in your tummy” when you like someone are not some exaggerated, over the top, cliche’d, made up feeling. They’re real! In the most figurative sense, of course. Then I asked myself, “How did I know I was ‘in love’?” Well, my palms became clammier than ever, I had a smile on my face whenever this person was present (in reality AND in my head) - which by the way I had no control over - and I did everything in my power to “bump” into the person whenever I had the chance. It was the single greatest feeling; I fell in love and I had no choice in the matter. What I did get to choose, though, was whether to pursue this feeling or completely ignore it.…

After analyzing Raymond Carver's "What We Talk About When We Talk About Love," it is easy to see that there are several different ideas concerning true love that the characters in the story are in dispute over. Terri's idea of real love is the most valid out of the group at the table. All of the members of the group are rather confused as to what real love is. Terri is included as one of the confused. However, I believe that she is the closest to understanding what love is. A key piece of evidence demonstrating her understanding of love is her remark to Laura and Nick. She scolds the couple for basing their relationship on physical aspects, rather than emotion or passion. Terri, like the rest of the party, is on her second marriage. Her first husband was an abusive man that beat her, and even dragged her by her ankles around their living room. Terri's current husband, Mel, is a cardiologist that believes in spiritual love, and that between spouses, people are barren and hollow inside, and that he could be married to any other empty person without difference. Mel is rather shielded from emotion between spouses. His only real love lies with his children, unfortunately Mel allows his conflict with his ex wife to block him from calling his them. Terri does love Mel, but she reminisces about her time with Ed. Terri realizes that Ed was full of emotion, and that he was just befuddled and chaotic in his methods of sharing his feelings. This explains his violent behavior and possibly his suicide. During the argument concerning Ed's actions, Terri mentions that Ed "loved her in his own way." It is my opinion that throughout Terri's experiences with different husbands, she sees that while Ed was abusive, he had passion. Mel on the other hand, is not passionate. It seems as though Terri favored marriage with Ed over marriage with Mel.…
