To begin with, I truly believe that the researchers, who have devoted their lives into studying the dynamics of drug interactions for the purpose of enhancing microbial eradication, are heroes in their own right. They have abide to do something with all their heart and soul for the better of mankind. We are living in an age where commitment is often, obscured by day to day life. Individuals make goals, often in the pursuit of glory, but Muhammad Ali once told us that goals, not written down, are only dreams. One can dream all we like but without commitment, nothing can be achieved.
Based on the article given, it proves that by devoting particular attention to pharmacodynamics, it enables one to understand the interaction between bacteria and antibiotics better. Such great understanding would then allow for manipulation of the drug usage, thereby strengthening our understanding of how to optimise antibiotic performance. Over the past decade, there have been numerous occasions where researchers have successfully identify possible pharmacodynamic outcome predictors, and assign quantitative values that would enable prediction of success/failure of antibiotic regimens. Furthermore, after reading this article, I believe that studying pharmacodynamics allows one to expedite the antibiotic development process and add an additional dimension to differentiate different members of a particular antibiotic class.
To accomplish the goal of optimising the particular drug, from my understanding, the clinician must become familiar with the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic concepts, as the understanding of these concepts establishes the basis for suitable dosing strategies. From what I have learnt in this module, the effort put into trying to grasp these concepts, in the context of drug usage, would minimize toxicity, costs, and...
