The simulation states, “in business, ANOVA is used as a statistical tool in Operations Research and Total Quality Management.” From what was observed in the simulation, having the presence of ANOVA (analysis of variance) in the daily operations and quality assurance/management process of an organization plays a beneficial role in helping an organization analyze and pinpoint areas of potential improvement, strengthen the quality of management, and reduce challenges that the organization currently faces. Because of ANOVA and nonparametric tests, such as the Kruskal-Wallis test, Praxidike Systems provides itself with the opportunity to discover reasons for the organization’s quality issues, and provide itself with viable solutions to the issue as well.
After completion of the Applying ANOVA and Nonparametric Tests simulation, there are three major points that were learned and are relative to the ANOVA and nonparametric tests.
1. Knowing which tests to use. For instance, there was a couple of situations where a two-way analysis was selected, when it should have been a one-way, etc.
2. If normality assumptions are not met, then the Kruskal-Wallis test should be used.
3. When looking at the assumptions for both ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis, it is important to ensure the accuracy of the assumptions and check for applicable mistakes to eliminate issues in testing.
As a result of using this simulation, the concepts and analytic tools that I may use is unknown, seeing as how I am still rather new in my new career field. In my previous position as a personal banker, ANOVA could be used in efforts to compare performance results from the sales team (which includes all banking staff). The categories used would be similar to those standards used in our yearly evaluations to determine our incentive. Our structure was based on three variances including:
Exceeds Expectation
Meets Expectation
Does Not Meet Expectation
The hypothesis that could be that individuals on our sales... [continues]
