Annual Day Compere’s Script
(Diya steps on stage)
D: Good evening ladies and gentlemen. The students of B.D Somani International School would like to give you a warm welcome to Annual Day 2014! My name is Diya and I will be your compere for the evening along with Zara…. Where is that girl anyways?
(Zara runs on stage)
Z: Sorry Diya! There are so many eager performers backstage! Where were we? D: Well, I was just about to explain the concept of Annual Day, but you can take it from here. Z: There is an abundance of talent in B.D Somani and Annual Day is the perfect opportunity for our students to showcase their talents in the form of a dance or singing. D: Not to mention the vast number of gymnasts and musicians that roam the halls of our school. Z: Oh yes! We can never forget about them. In a nutshell, we combine all these talented individuals and present a spectacular performance for you all, so please sit back and enjoy this evening! D: First up, we have our very own pitch perfect girls?
Z: Pitch perfect? Like the movie?
D: Yup, up first we have the wonderful girls of grade 9 skillfully maneuvering an empty plastic cup with…. Z&D: THE CUP SONG!
Z: Wow! I would never be able to do that! It seems to require so much effort, coordination and a great sense of rhythm to produce any melody using just a cup! D: Tell me about it, I can never get it right!
Z: Speaking of coordination, we now have our very own 8th graders putting up a (does silent actions) D: What are you doing Zara?
(Zara continues to mime)
D: Are you stuck in a box? Seriously Zara, you look like one of those French mi…. Oh! Mime! Z: Exactly!
D: So ladies and gentlemen give it up for the 8th grade mime!
D: Wasn’t that just a spectacular performance?
Z: Did you know, Diya, that this is the first time those 8th graders have ever performed? D: Seriously? That is very impressive!
Z: I know, anyways, what do we have next in the addenda?
D: Now, we have the class of grade 10...
