Assessment 2: Part A) Case Study - Analysis & Interpretation of Running Record

CASE STUDY: You will be given a running record of a child’s play to analyse and interpret.

Undertake a written analysis and interpretation of the play. Identify the developmental domains most strongly involved and the nature of the learning that is taking place. Justify your answer by linking it to current research. Identify the main area of the Curriculum Framework and specific Student Outcome Statements to which this learning is connected. (W.A or state you live in) What specific developmental patterns are noted in the running records? Note any asynchronous development (advanced or delayed) and use developmental checklists, if necessary. Link your report to research – ie all comments should be accurately referenced (in-text) where appropriate. Be sure to include a full Reference List (minimum of 5 texts/journal articles) with your work. Your case study analysis should be approx. 1500 words, excluding the reference list.

Assessment 2: Part B) Case Study - Domain Development & Extension

CASE STUDY: In Part A of this assignment you were asked to analysis and interpret a child’s play from running records. For this task you are required to:

Identify – where to from here for this child?
Examine any specific asynchronous developmental traits and discuss the child’s present developmental level. Discuss ways in which an adult could support, stimulate or extend the child through play (can be “expanded dot point format” for this section). Note any resources (physical and human) that you would include. Link your report to research – ie all comments should be accurately referenced (in-text) where appropriate. Be sure to include a full Reference List (minimum of 4 texts/journal articles) with your work. Your case study extension should be approx. 1000 words, excluding the reference list. The word report is mentioned twice, just use the blue headings above as the headings for...
