Trapped, as a scientist experiments on you without even asking for your consent. Animal testing has multiple negative factors that come along with it. It can easily be avoided by simply not performing the tests on animals but by other scientific ways that are practiced in the lab. Animal testing is labelled under animal cruelty and should be put to a stop immediately.
Every year, over 100 million animals are being put through pain, torture and suffering for products that aren’t even created for their benefits. (Animal Rights.2013) Animals get tested for the use of human products like the most common, cosmetics, medicinal drugs, food experimentation, pesticides and so forth. In the labs, animals are held hostage and treated with cruelty, some cruelties are so severe that it leads to the poisoning, blinding, and eventually death of an animal, as the lifespan of these animals are usually cut short. (peta.2013)With absolutely no chance of fighting back, put yourself in their shoes and imagine if you were one of the many “mice and rats that are forced to inhale toxic fumes, dogs that are force-fed pesticides, and rabbits that have corrosive chemicals rubbed onto their skin and eyes”. (peta.2013) These tests often have negative or misleading results, (Tom Chivers.2012) and even after the tests prove to be harmful against the animals tested on, the product(s) might still be sold to everyday markets to people just like you.
The reason why scientists use animals for experimentations on new products; is because they believe that they have similar features to us, and they want to test out the reaction on the product to animal symbolising us. (about animal testing.2013) But the word “similar” does not mean “exact”, therefore, what an animal’s immune might be able to fight, might not be suitable for the immune of a human being. There are ways around animal testing, different ways, for different experiments. For example, cosmetics are one of the most...
