Animals are beaten, neglected and forced to live out their days with no hope of survival. Animals feel so much pain when they are being abused by their owners; it’s disgusting to think a person would abuse a poor innocent animal, when it’s done nothing wrong.…
1. ATTENTION GETTER: Millions of animals are abused each year. Over a million of these animals are abused or killed just due to the involvement with domestic violence. Despite animal cruelty being a felony which can result in jail time for over 15 years and 500,000 dollars in fines, it is still an issue which occurs on a daily basis across the United States. It is important for these animals to not go unnoticed, which can be achieved if society became more enlightened and educated on the topic of animal cruelty. (Pacelle, 2011).…
So, don’t you think we should stop killing or abusing animals and respect animals? There are many ways to stop killing and selling animals. By the way, I am not going to say you have to be a vegetarian or stop eating meat. It will be really good if you being a vegetarian. However, you can THINK about the animals that you are going to eat and how they SACRIFICE for us.…
The ASPCA believes that the successful prosecution of animal cruelty offenders should include fines, jail sentences, and counseling to prevent additional acts of cruelty ( Guiding Principles, 2016). They believe that the people who commit criminal acts toward animals should get a punishment that will match the offense. The assumption that they are making is that there is a correlation between animals and human violence. The are also assuming that if someone is abusive to animals, then they are abusive to humans as well. This is not a fair assumption. There are certain people who have criminal pasts and they find a new start in life by taking care of pit bulls or horses. Animals can help them become better humans. As well as helping them learn love and…
Animal abusement is when people hurt animals on purpose. One form of animal abusement is dogfighting. Dogfighting is a gambling sport where two trained and bred dogs, fight to the death in a dirt with surrounding walls of wood. Over 16,000 dogs die per year from dog fighting only. Results can be severe bruising, deep puncture wounds and broken bones says humanesociety.org. Dogs often die of blood loss, shock, dehydration. One former dogfighter said “Miss Rufus spent most of the rest of the fight on her back and Bandit broke her other front leg high up in the shoulder, as well as one of her back legs, in the knee joint. The only leg she didn’t break she chewed all to h*ll. She had literally scalped Miss Rufus, tearing a big chunk of skin off the top of her head alongside one ear." according to humanesociety.org. Also children are present to these fights which is a bad influence to those kids and tells them that it is okay to abuse animals. Illegal drugs and firearms are found being sold at these events and even homicide is happening at these events. Dogs who are training for these fights are baited on running on a treadmill with an animal in a cage, some ears cut off (For other animals to not latch on) , dogs are injected with steroids, and food is injected with roach poison (A way to kill cockroaches) to make him taste…
I am so sick of hearing cases on the news, like "Man from Atlanta is facing penalties in Georgia in which a puppy was cooked in an oven" or "Brothers in Atlanta are being charged for putting a puppy in a gas range and turning the gas on." Animal cruelty is one of the most common types of violence in the United States. It is not as accustomed to hear such heartbreaking cases as these. Some of the most common forms of animal cruelty are: Animal testing and experimentation in laboratories, lack of owners care and attention, and using animals as a way of entertainment. Now, lets take a closer look at these three forms of animal cruelty.…
Animal abuse is a topic that most people are aware of in this day and age. But to clarify this is not going to be a speech appealing to the pity of Sarah McLachlan's song during animal cruelty commercials. Believe me this topic is truly sad, but its gets worse when you look into the current problems. I will elaborate on what is currently being done. The SPCA is a very large benefactor in stopping animal abuse as many of you probably know by their numerous commercials asking for donations and public awareness but they cannot take this entire burden on their shoulders alone. The type of animal abuse I would like talk about is specific to farm animals. This is a particular topic that many people do not consider. The example i am going to use first is the life of a cow and then elaborate on chickens. A female cow on a dairy farm is repetitively impregnated, again, and again for the production of milk. Hundreds of cows residing on thousands of dairy farms across america are artificially inseminated to constantly produce milk for our consumption. After a time of nine months the cow gives birth to a calf, within hours or a day the calf is taken from the mom and transported to a veal…
“The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing”-Albert Einstein. Abuse towards animals occurs when humans cause harm to animals intentionally or unintentionally. Animal Cruelty during the Victorian Era is similar to the present day because people beat animals as punishment. However in the present day more people are hoarding animals as a result of being emotionally troubled rather than having a criminal motive, and people have started to stand up against abusive behavior towards animals.…
Animal cruelty is the crime inflicting physical pain, suffering or death upon an animal, according to law-definition. Neglect toward your pet is horrible. We have pets for companionship and to protect us,just like my dog does. Not just our pets, but our communities, wild animals are being harmed too.…
We live on this earth unaware of all the evil here, we are blind too all the greed and hate in the world, we choose to be ignorant and blind because who wants to see pain and suffering and not be brave enough to use our voices. Walking around the mall you pass by a cute little bulldog puppy lying there playing playing with a toy, you see this cute little dog and just die of love and cuteness, we don't think twice before we go in too look at all the cute little puppies they have for sale. Little do we as ignorant people the cute little puppies in the window are products of cruelty and greed. Do we see the truth behind all the cute little bows in the dogs and atmosphere of the pet store? Many people don't even bother to find out where their…
Each day the number of animal cruelty cases in the media is only the tip of the iceberg. Most animal cruelty cases are never reported and the animals suffering goes unrecognized. Some of these types include; fur trade, animal testing, dolphin and whale slaughter, animals in sport and even in zoo’s. There are many types of animal cruelty, some of which people do not even recognize as being cruel towards animals.…
Lab testing, caging and animal violence are all examples of the abuse. Animals are abused and mistreated when they are used for research experiments. They are thrown in small cages daily, fed poorly, tortured, and they go through all these events no one would ever want to go through. Chickens for example, are often trapped in such small cages that they can't even stand; they just sit there all day everyday laying eggs for the farmers. When the chickens can't lay any more eggs they are slaughtered and sold as food. Humans can be selfish creatures that lock up helpless animals, kill them and eat them. These scientists treat animals like trash, more and more animals after each one many of them die.…
Animal cruelty can be anywhere and done by anyone. Many people think of animals, especially cats and dogs, as disposable. They get a puppy for the children for Christmas only to realize it is a lot of work that the children are not ready for. They forget to feed and water it, don 't take it for walks, and don 't take it outside to use the bathroom. The solution, abandon it or just take it to the humane society. They 'll get another when the kids are older. An animal that is used to being taken care of by humans cannot fend for itself when it is dumped. It slowly starves or gets attacked by other animals. Many people will shoot stray animals with bbs to chase them away from their property. The animal becomes hurt or aggressive…
There are many ways people in this cycle abuse animals, for example entertainment, psychological reasons, and hunting. Animal abuse can also be classified into two separate categories. First is active abuse and the other is passive abuse. Active form of abuse involves direct cruelty to animals and the other is passive abuse includes lack of care or negligence towards pets.…
Animal and child abuse is reported every 10 seconds. However, many people in the United States suffer some kind of abuse and it could happen to the least expected ones. Abuse types can vary, it can be physical or emotional. Abuse doesn't only affect humans but also animals. Abuse is a cycle that repeats itself but over the years if it gets it can lead to more serious problems. Abuse happens in the places least expected, for example, nursing homes, orphanages, and in "happy" relationships. Animals are small and easier target abusers use them to hurt people.
