Where do most parts of the liturgy come from?
STRICPTURE
Examples: Kyrie Eleison Mark 10:47
-Scripture is read at length, with three readings assigned each day. This organization of readings are known as a lectionary.
Lectionary= A book or listing that contains a collection of Scripture readings appointed for given days or occasions
Lectionaries are different, but many follow a three year cycle taking the Church through major portions of the Bible, but note everything….
-The Lectionary follows the Church Year
Church Year= Christians observe seasons, festivals, and occasions annually

-Potiential Negatives of Liturgical Worship
-It’s uninspiring?
-It’s old, out of date?

-Natural Signs: Earthquakes, floods, pestilence, etc.
