Anand Mahindra Born on 1st May, 1955 in Mumbai, India into a well-known business family.



Anand G. Mahindra graduated with Honours from Harvard
College, Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1977. In 1981 he secured an MBA degree from the Harvard Business School, Boston,
Massachusetts. He returned to India that year and joined
Mahindra Ugine Steel Company Ltd (MUSCO), the country’s foremost producer of specialty steels, as Executive Assistant to the Finance Director. In 1989 he was appointed President and
Deputy Managing Director of the company .





During his stint at MUSCO, he initiated the Mahindra Group’s diversification into the new business areas of real estate development and hospitality management.
Gradually in 1989, he climbed up to the post of the President and Deputy Managing Director, and diversified the company into new business areas of real estate development and hospitality. 

His efforts paid off, when he was appointed the post of Deputy
Managing director of M&M in 1991, Managing Director in
1997 and Vice chairman in 2003.



He was also a co-promoter of Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd, which was converted into a bank in 2oo3, and rose up to the position of leading private sector banks.



Under his guidance and leadership, the Mahindra group has set international benchmarks for success.



In real life Mahindra is an active participant in co-curricular activities. A tennis buff he has now taken up sailing. He enjoys world cinema, reading and listening to the Blues. In 2011
