Proposal Analyze Kazakhstan-Chinese relations from a Realist perspective Kazakh-Chinese relations have been developed from a predominantly economic and trade contacts to reach the level of strategic partnership. China and Kazakhstan have promoted a rapid expansion of commerce and partnership over economic development, especially in harnessing Kazakhstan's oil, natural gas, minerals and other major energy resources. Kazakhstan is trying to balance between China and Russia, but China going to obtain the leading role in developing energy industries in Kazakhstan. However, despite this obvious confluence of political will, strategic cooperation remains tentative: while the Sino-Kazakh economic partnership functions well, the strategic alliance continues to be impeded due to differences of opinion and of interests, and, on the Kazakh side, uncertainty about the long-term ambitions of its Chinese neighbor toward the region as a whole. The economic influence of China is growing, so we need to analyse them deeply, how they will develop further. Also, we should discuss China-Kazakhstan relations in the fields of military, security and strategic interests.
