My research is AN EVALUATION OF THE BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE OF GUARANTY TRUST BANK PLC BETWEEN 1 JANUARY 2008 AND 31 DECEMBER 2010. This topic focuses on the financial and business performance of Nigerian Banks, using a case study of Guaranty Trust Bank PLC, since the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) compelled banks to raise their capital base to a minimum of N25 billion which led to re-capitalisation and consolidation by banks in December 2005. The banking sector has since metamorphosed to be one of the largest banking industry in Africa with total asset and contingents of $128.6 billion ( At N140 to $1) in 2008 compared to $25.4 billion in 2004(Agusto & Co.,CBN).
