Two activities that women can participate to protect themselves from consumer quackery is yoga/meditation as well as obtaining a gym membership. According to the Food and Drug Administration, consumer quackery is the promotion of a medical remedy that is known to be false and/or unproven. Yoga attempts to integrate the mind, body, and soul/spirit with the universe through movement, relaxation, breathing techniques, and music. Connecting the human body with the realms of the universe is important to create unity and self-awareness. How can we expect to be at peace with the world without being at peace with ourselves first?
Getting a gym membership will also be effective because physical fitness is a vital component towards living a healthy lifestyle. Physical fitness is a common action that exists in our everyday life whether we realize it or not. Walking, running, weight lifting, and jogging all fit into this category. Some individuals may value fitness more than others but being physically active is something that we should all be able to relate to. The lack of physical activity can be detrimental to one’s health and influence younger generations to accept these bad habits. Regular physical activity is one of the most important things we can do for our health. It can help control weight, lower the risk of heart disease, improve mood, and even increase lifespan.
Also, doing research on different health-related fraudulent practices will help women protect themselves from any harm coming their way. Education is key and learning more about these types of topics will only serve as a benefit and advantage over the people who don’t take that initiative.
