1. Why is Horatio Alger, Jr. important in American Popular Culture?
A: Many of Alger's works have been described as rags to riches stories, illustrating how down-and-out boys might be able to achieve the American Dream of wealth and success through hard work, courage, determination, and concern for others. This widely held view involves Alger's characters achieving extreme wealth and the subsequent remediation of their "old ghosts." Alger is noted as a significant figure in the history of American cultural and social ideals.

2. Why is Dale Carnegie important in American Popular Culture?
A: Dale Carnegie impacts on the lives of thousands of people around the world in morality, mentality and behavior.   When the economic downturn, inequality, war and other demons are eroded away human for the mind, spirit and thought of the Carnegie Institution became the people walk out of the confusion and frustration of the strongest support. Even in modern society, the Carnegie Endowment on human insights, still guides for millions of people to change thought, perfect behavior, the same way.

A: mass culture, elite culture and vernacular culture

4. Why study American Popular Culture?
