There are an endless number of views when it comes to the study American history. For me I believe that most of American history is just someone’s opinion of what happen. I have to question if what I read is fact or fiction. Even today as new history is created our government lies to us daily, hourly and minutely. So, what is true? In history books they say Columbus discovered America, but the Indians were already here. So, explain to me how you discover something that is already inhabited by someone else? What if a group of people came here and decided to say they discovered America today would that be true? Would we have to be put on reservations, because they don’t like or understand the way we live? So, did Columbus and his men discover America or did they come and take America from the American Indians? I do not know about most people but the negative view that I have about history is as I stated above. The part of history I like is the research I do on my family. When one has a positive point of view about something they usually have had good experience with whatever it is. When you feel that most of what you are being taught is untrue it kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth. In order to improve the view point of Americans when it comes to history the truth would have to be told and I do not believe...
