Alzheimer’s Dementia threatens to strike some 14 million Americans by the year 2050. Baby boomers will make up many of these statistics. More emphasis should be placed upon this forgotten group.
Lost In Time offers a newly renovated 60 bed facility with a home-like atmosphere. We offer three distinct units that are based upon your loved ones functioning level. Unit one is for patients that are in the first stage of Alzheimer’s disease and are high functioning with only slight forgetfulness. Unit two is for the moderately affected Alzheimer’s patient. Unit three is for the severely affected Alzheimer’s patient that is suffering from incontinence as well as severe memory impairment. There are twenty beds per unit with all rooms being private. Families are encouraged to furnish these rooms with items that are familiar to the resident.
We pride ourselves with the home-like atmosphere we have created here at Lost In Time. Each resident has their own private room to reduce the risk of over stimulation that a roommate can sometimes cause. Memory boxes are located outside of each patients room to be filled with whatever mementoes that the person chooses. Our enclosed garden walking paths are lush and serene with no dead ends or obstructions, so as not to frustrate and confuse the dementia patients.
We offer a balanced combination of medication, behavioral and environmental approaches for the effective treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. We offer care and concern not chemical restraints. We believe that an integrated holistic approach is best. We also recognize that mind and body-emotional and physical health are interrelated.
