Alcohol is Harmful
Most people in the U.S.A. have been drunk more than once. Alcohol is a substance that is supposed to be given to people over 21 years old and at a certain amount. The problem with alcohol is that even a small amount can do physical damage. Alcohol has been a big problem in society making the life of people harder. Alcohol is a legal substance in many if not all the countries of the world. Alcohol and its effects are affecting our society, families, and lives. Alcohol is legal cause but it should be illegal because it doesn’t give any benefits instead of that it gives problems more problems that people could think of. Alcohol affects the health it’s a factor of rapes, sexual assaults, crimes, accidents, deaths, and violence. These are actually big issues that are affecting or society because alcohol does the same harm it doesn’t matter the age or the gender. Everybody knows that alcohol is a toxic substance and that can cause the death.“Excessive alcohol consumption is the third leading preventable cause of death in the United States and is associated with multiple adverse health consequences, including liver cirrhosis, various cancers, unintentional injuries, and violence” (Alcohol-Attributable Deaths and Years of Potential Life Lost). Alcohol has some effects that the person could notice at the time they are drinking, for example alcohol makes the person slow and makes him/her ho things he/she wouldn’t do if the person wasn’t under its effects. Some people believe that alcohol is one of the most toxic drugs around, alcohol is so toxic that if a person uses more than 10 doses that one would use to get the desired effect can cause the death of the individual (Gable). Due to its toxicity, alcohol is one of the drugs that drive a person to a hospital. “There are an estimated 73,000 annual hospitalizations in California related to the use of alcohol” (Study on the Fiscal Impact of Proposition).
