History of Establishment
The history began with taste, when Professor Kikunae Ikeda from the University of Tokyo isolated glutamate from the seaweed and discovered its flavor enhancing properties in 1908. The next year, his discovery was introduced to the market in the form of the flavor enhancer AJINOMOTO meaning the Essence of Taste (scientifically, it is termed as Monosodium Glutamate, or MSG in short.) Today, Ajinomoto is sold more than 100 countries, and Ajinomoto Group's 15 factories around the world are supplying about one-third of the 1.5 million-ton global markets for monosodium glutamate. In 1961, the company Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad has started its business operations as a producer of AJINOMOTO. Ajinomoto is a joint venture company between early established in this country. Ajinomoto Berhad has grown as food and flavoring foods to market various brands that are believed by the people of Malaysia for the past several decades. Its inception nearly 103 years in Malaysia.
Company Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad was chaired by General Tan Sri (Dr) Dato 'Mohamed Hashim Bin Mohd Ali. He became be chairman of this company on 5 September 1995. Ajinomoto's corporate responsibility is to realize the philosophy of Ajinomoto group who want to shape a better life around the world to contribute to advances in food and health and strive for a better life. Ajinomoto Company began production of AJI-NO-MOTO in Zushi factory. After the launch of AJI-NO-MOTO in Japan on May 20, 1909, in 1910, the company has chosen sole agent in Taiwan and Korea at the time. In 1917, the company purchases and sales office opened in New York and in Shanghai. The company also has opened a sales office in Singapore in 1927 and set up Kagaku Kogyo Co. Nosan Manchuria. China's Tianjin. After the Second World War, the companies expand its market and set up plants in 15 countries in the world. Operations center or manufacturing plant of Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad is located in Old Klang Road in Kuala Lumpur since its inception. The company also has branches in other states such as in Kota Bharu, Georgetown, Ipoh, Kuantan, Batu Pahat, Johor Bahru, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. This branch is a distribution center / sales of Ajinomoto products only where the factory is based in Kuala Lumpur.
Products and Services offered by the company
For over 40 years, Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad improve and develop new brands to provide flavoring and seasoning ingredients many variations to the people of Malaysia. There are two products manufactured by Ajinomoto, it is : 1) Retail Products
Retail products consist of eight types of products that serve as an additional AJINOMOTO flavors are widely used by housewives, vendors and professional cooks. AJI MIX (giving a sense of balance), Tumix (made from natural chicken and fried onions) and s AJI (various flavors) also serves as a flavor enhancer. PAL SWEET and SLIM UP provide an opportunity for dieters and diabetics to add flavor in foods and beverages. In addition, Ajinomoto also produced a simple mushroom soup are served without the need for high cost VONO.
2) Industrial Products
Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad has a function called TENCHO flavor. A product “TENCHO” is used widely in industrial processes.
