I always wanted to become a teacher. The main reason for this is that I want to do something to help the community, and give back some of the privileges that I enjoyed. Some of these privileges included a great education, and caring teachers. Everyone has gotten to where they are in life because they had a teacher. By definition, a teacher is someone who gives instruction and communicates skills. The lives most impacted by teachers are those of our children. Teaching makes a difference in children, because it gives them tools to help them be successful in the future. I could see myself accomplishing this task through teaching. I feel that a lot of schools in the community need hard working, caring, and responsible teachers, and I want to become a part of it. I believe that to become a teacher, your heart really needs to be in it and you need to be committed and dedicated. I will constantly think of ways on how to improve things and how to help my students when I become a teacher. I have the motivation, and the potential to become a teacher. I feel I have a real enthusiasm for teaching as well as a great deal of patience, which I believe is an important quality to hold when working with children. In this way, I will be influencing the futures of our next generation in a positive way. I have previously volunteered at Wicomico middle school in Salisbury, MD for 2 years. I have tutored them in the (WISE) afterschool program and the (WISE) summer program. I’ve built a great relationship with all the students, and I enjoyed my time working there and helping students out, who were in need of help with their math and other subjects. Through this volunteering experience, I learned a lot of things. Most important was the behavior aspect of children. I completely understand how to motivate students, and how to get them interested in the coursework. Their enthusiasm and motivation is the key to a better future…

Life is like a long road with many diversions. When an infant is born, most likely his or her parents have high hopes and aspirations for the child and want to plan his or her life in as much detail as they can. At that point, the infant’s life is full of hope and unlimited possibilities. But as the child grows up, he or she selects from among these choices. We often see that a child is playing pretend when he or she wants to emulate Mum, Dad or an aunt or uncle in acting out their profession in life. Or may be he or she is responding to the children’s programs on TV like Barney or Sesame Street discussing the professions. An important question is: And what do you want to be when you grow up?…

Why I want teach is a question as big as the sun. To teach is to pass knowledge and skill from one to another. For me to teach I am allowing my love for music to be passed to another student so that can carry on that passion. To tell you why I want to teach would take all day but I guess can try to keep it to a couple of pages.…

Teaching is hell. The reasons I would not like to become a teacher are simply just obvious. More work than pay i.e. low net salary, stress, strict rules, you got to have a lot of patience with students especially noisy ones, and spend a lot of time preparing topics for the next day’s work.…

I couldn't imagine life with out being in a school. They say I'm too shy to be a teacher, to depressed, and having social anxiety isn't going to help either. But I know that there is nothing else in this world that I would want, or could do, than to teach. I may not have a family member that has taught, I may not have all the intelligence, and I might not be much of a leader. But I have my own, just as important reasons.…

I want to be a teacher for several different reasons. I initially decided teaching was for me when I was in middle school. I had an amazing teacher that helped me through a lot. She made a huge impact on my life, and I knew then that I wanted to be able to do the same for other kids. I later went on to have children of my own, which gave me even more reason to become a teacher. And even with the economy the way it is today, there are actually a lot of opportunities for teaching given the wide variety of jobs a teaching degree can obtain. I also understand the responsibility that comes with teaching and that the job doesn’t end when you leave the classroom. That is why I respect the teaching field as much as I do. I know I still have a long way to go before I get to my teaching career but I feel it will all be worth it when I get there.…
