Summary:

Agile Logistics, a Singapore based warehousing and logistics specialist, is a well-recognized third-party logistics (3PL) provider. Agile Logistics has the know-how to power their customers’ supply-chain - delivering intelligent solutions that streamline efficiencies and boost their customers’ bottom line.

Agile Logistics wanted to design, fabricate and commission a new computer-controlled system for automatic placement, storage and retrieval of standardized shipping containers.

The system uses an overhead conveyor track system, conveyor-robot transporter units, racks with standard size shipping containers and storage buckets, and a computerized database for automatic placement and retrieval of parcels and record keeping.

You are the logistics manager of Agile Logistics and you know the operation well. Also, given that you have been trained in project management, the company decides that you are the most suitable candidate to be the project manager for implementation of this new system.

You are responsible for the full life cycle of the project which includes developing a comprehensive project plan, executing and controlling the project, and terminating the project.

The main tasks of this project have been broken down and listed in Table 1.
