African Independence

This is your candidate Nelson Mandela, for president of South Africa. I’ve seen a lot, even though I’ve been locked up for twenty seven years. The feeling I got, why you guys wanted my freedom, because your peoples freedom is trapped in a prison of inequality. You’ve elected me because you need someone in the same footsteps as you all. You need someone who has felt like the third class citizen, being stuck in the well of poverty only receiving chump change of the rich man. The ANC was once pleasing that bias government, I influenced it to do more than please it. I incorporated it to strike and boycott the government because it didn’t deserve enjoyment, it deserved obliteration. The Sharpeville massacre occurs killing sixty nine black protestors, they then ban the ANC from existence. Where is this Universal Declaration of Human Rights to protect us? Where is our right to protest and protect ourselves from this. I was about to lose hope, but then I thought what did Mahatma Gandhi do. We have been raped, killed, humiliated and more but, “There is no easy walk to freedom anywhere, and many of us will have to pass through the valley of the shadow of death again and again before we reach the mountaintop of our desires”. We couldn’t have done this all without the people who enjoy freedom as much as I do. Electing me as president is like electing you guys as president because I’m for the people, by the people and to the people. “There is no passion to be found playing small, in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living”. We all have capabilities that haven’t been discovered, If you all believe in me, I will show you what South Africa has been missing.
