Dear Macbeth,

I am glad that you wrote to me. I am sorry to hear that you are stressed out because of guilt. I can’t imagine how difficult it is to have hallucinations. I think what you should do now is to calm yourself down and listen to my advices.

During the feast, you saw Banquo’s ghost sitting in the place offered to you. His head was half off, all painted with his life’s blood and he was glaring at you. Actually, it was only your illusion, because the two muffled-looking men had already killed him and he was dead. You were the only person who could see him, you shook and stared and muttered at an empty stool and you nearly revealed the truth about King Duncan’s murder. The guests thought you were frantic and ill, so they left immediately in confusion.

Hallucination is a symptom of stress, the possible reason that you could see Banquo’s ghost is that you are guilty of killing Kong Duncan. I think that if you share your thoughts about the guilt of murdering with your wife Lady Macbeth, you may feel better as she is very supportive and she may help you get through this. Also, relax yourself and think more optimistically. Banquo is dead so no one can tell others about your visit to the weird sisters. You should enjoy being the King of Scotland and celebrate.

However, if you still can’t get rid of these hallucinations, I suggest you to confess. If you insist on hiding this bloody deed, your guilt will never be washed away, you will always be anxious and the illusions won’t go away. You will feel so painful mentally that you may get crazy! You might need to bear the responsibility to the things you did, but that’s better than being the king disgracefully and dishonourably, right?

I know, confessing is a very difficult thing to do. However, remember that whatever you do, wherever you go, I will always be there for you. Feel free to write to me if you need any help, hope my advice helps!

Yours,
Sam
