My name is Kiara Holland I am twenty one years old and currently a senior at Shaw University located in Raleigh, North Carolina the first HBCU in the South. I am majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Management with a minor in Accounting. I am currently a member of the Honors College, Alpha Chi National Honors Society, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. While being at Shaw University I knew that it was very important to become involved with my campus. I participated in numerous activities such as Student Development Counselor, Residence Advisor, Shaw University Ambassador, Business Manager of the Student Government Association and Student Activities Intern. With all these activities, that I participate in I am still able to maintain a 3.2 GPA. I received the Gold Pin in 2008 and the Bronze Pin in 2009, and the Honor Pin in 2010. I enjoy being a member of all the activities listed above. With being an active student on campus, it has enhanced my communication skills and people skills and experience how to work in a business setting. I am interested in culinary arts, community service, and business related issues. When I graduate, I plan to attend Graduate school to obtain my MBA. While attending graduate I plan to work to receive funds to pay for graduate school. After completing Graduate school, I then plan to attend culinary arts school in order to receive a certificate in Culinary Arts. After having both my master’s degree and my certificate in culinary arts I then plan to open my own restaurant. These are my goals in life and I believe this scholarship is...
