Advanced Info Service PCL, founded in April 1986, is Thailand’s largest GSM mobile phone operator with 31 million customers as of September 2011. AIS is controlled by the InTouch Plc (formerly Shin Corporation), headed by Temasek Holdings, a Singapore government owned agency. AIS is a very profitable company and listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand with 42.40% profit increase reported up to 3rd quarter 2012 same time as last year from 18,556.71 million baht to 26,425.62 million baht. AIS also has many subsidiary companies such as Advanced Contact Center Co., Ltd. (ACC), Wireless Device Supplies Co., Ltd. (WDS), etc.

* Product. AIS provides service for both domestic and abroad Two type of services are called “GSM Advance” and “1-2-call!”. GSM Advance is postpaid charge which customers pay monthly for the phone fees, whereas, 1-2-call! is prepaid charge which is appropriate for low amount usage of mobile phone. AIS has both voice and non-voice services. Voice service is normal incoming and outgoing call. Non-voice service is the fast growing for the past several years, which are SMS, MMS, GPRS, 3G, and Data transmission. Loyal customers will get Serenade club membership for superior services and promotions. * Price. AIS has the slogan of “Your World Your Way”, each of customer has unequally in using voice and non-voice services because of different lifestyle of living, so packages are very flexible for each type of customer including teenagers, adults, and old people. Teenagers might need package for chitchatting and surfing internet more than calling, whereas old people needs calling package only because they don’t chitchat. Moreover, AIS has a package called “topping” (apart from the main package) which can serve more needs of customers like couple package, call your lover at cheaper rate, etc. * Promotion.
