Technology
Think of the days when there were no computers and no modern means of transport. Human life was highly restricted due to the unavailability of technological advances. Daily life involved a lot of physical activity. Exercise was integrated into everyone’s daily routine to complete certain tasks. Contrary to the stationary lifestyle of today, which leaves no time for exercise and fills days with inactivity. Today we don't want to, and thanks to technology, don't even need to walk, move around, or barely exert physical energy to get things done. We have the world at our fingertips. Technology has come to transform society; we are practically dependent on it for the completion of every task and find ourselves lost without it. The world once thinking we would need only a hand full of computers has turned out to each family having a hand full of computers. Technology has become faster, smaller and ever more affordable through time. Computers once filled up large sized rooms, now they are small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. As technology has developed throughout the years, it has greatly affected society and the way we live in many aspects from everyday activities, to work and school. The impact of technology on society is deep. However, in my opinion it is both positive and negative. For example, think of the days when there were no online messengers, no emails and no cell phones. Don’t get me wrong cellular technology made it far less complex for us to communicate over wireless media as well as long-distance communication but on the other hand, it has deprived mankind the warmth of personal contact. Emails replaced handwritten letters and communication lost its personal touch. Slowly technology is taking the place of everything. A surgeon has been replaced by a robotic surgeon for precision. A book store being replaced by a kindle, which has thousands of books in the palm of your hand. Online shopping has replaced checking out a store. Online...
