1.What are some potential legal and ethical issues present in this case study?
The potential legal problems are Mark did not use the money the way he was supposed to, he eliminated vital parts of the pool project and did not justify why such things as nonskid pads on the stairs or wheelchair accessibility was not provided, these things were budgeted for yet Mark decided against installing them. Mark failed to hold himself accountable for the funds for the project, he neither will say where the money is or returned it to the proper accounting system (no paper work=no paper trail), the question of misappropriation of funds is inevitable. Mark cut cost on safe guards for the retirement center, therefore the residents, who he is supposed to care for are put in harm’s way, accidents are a result along with possible deaths. I believe that because he is so negligent HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act) as well as OSHA (Occupational Safety Health Administration) should get involved. Mark is ethically immature and has not stood firm on the mission of the Acre Woods Retirement Community. Lastly Sarah because she was removed from her position has legal recourse; it is illegal to remove someone from a position because someone else kisses the leaders butt better.

Mark is arrogant and has not taken care of his responsibility; he is also a poor example of a bully. Mark bullied Sarah and still did not get the away with his deceptive behavior.

Yes, if you want to know how not to live up to the standard for treating people, being accountable, upholding the mission of the organization, or for making the residents of the retirement community feel safe and supported and getting the needed therapy safely.
