I grew up in a very family oriented family. I found myself watching my Aunt Patty styling for many of our family members, and even for special events such as Quinceañeras, wedding, and pageants, and found myself constantly in awe of the transformation that she was able to do. It was as if she was a magician performing a beautiful art that brightened up not only the day of the individual that she worked on but it was almost as if it was transforming their lives. Her talent was able to give confidence to these individuals that originally walked in with not even a smile on their faces, yet walked out of her salon with a smile that could light up a room. From then on, I knew that what I wanted to do was to touch individuals in the ways that she was able to.
My dream is to be able to get my cosmetology license to work at a luxurious salon to help individuals be able to achieve the look that they want. Ultimately I want to use that as a stepping stool in order for me to have my own salon to be able to have the ultimate say in how things are ran. Reason for that is I want to be able to open up a salon where it was be a luxurious place where it would be the few places in this world where a person would feel at ease when they walk into the front door. Although the glitz and glam are a part of the dream that I want to be able to come true, my biggest dream is to have a salon where there would be 3 days of the month where it would be solely dedicated into helping the less fortunate. I feel that I was blessed in this world to be raised in such a wonderful and loving family yet clearly there are individuals who are not as fortunate that even a haircut would brighten up their day and their confidence.
I want to be able to dedicate one day for single mothers or fathers who spend their time raising their children yet have no funding for even a haircut to look appropriate for an individual to go in for an interview for a job. I want to dedicate a second day for the children...
