Dear Selection Committee,
I would like to take the time to discuss with you my career goals and how I plan to obtain them in order to give you an idea of why I am a good candidate for an accounting scholarship. I constantly strive for excellence and am committed to making my time as an undergraduate as productive and beneficial as possible.
After completing college with a degree in Accounting and Finance, I then plan to obtain my CPA license. My goal is to first work for a large public accounting firm, where I’ll be involved in preparing financial statements and assisting in financial decisions. That is why I have decided to differentiate and further myself by also obtaining a finance degree. Having a degree in both accounting and finance will ensure that I have 225 credits and will be eligible to sit for the CPA exam.
To improve my leadership skills in order to obtain a leading financial role in a financial company I have pursued officer positions in the clubs I am involved in. I have recently become the Vice President of External Relations of the Oregon State...
