Who brings up the charges and who hears the case? The house of representatives brings up the case and the senate hears their case 4. Richard Nixion Watergate's Legacy of Secrets 6. Who were the two Washington Post reporters who broke the Watergate story? Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, 7. What was the code name of their confidential government source?  W. Mark Felt 8. What was the purpose of the Watergate break-in? So that they could bug the building so they could monitor political opposites to Nixon. 9. Who was Howard Hunt? He was one of the people involved in organizing the Watergate break in and subsequent cover up. 10. How did a “third rate burglary” lead to the resignation of the President?
